Asanas for our Belly

We are always conscious of our belly fat when we are all dressed up for a party, event, get
together and when taking photographs. (we try to pull it in and smile).
Sedentary lifestyle, lack of exercise, unhealthy food habits and even stress can contribute to the
excess around our waist.
Instead we should start with simple yoga asanas and practice them everyday. This will help
reduce belly fat and also in developing muscle tone and improve metabolism.
Here are a few effective asanas to help us in this journey.

  1. Naukasana (Boat pose) – strengthen the back and leg muscles and get rid of fat around the
    waist
  2. Bhujangasana (Cobra pose) – reduces belly fat and relieves back pain
  3. Adho Mukha Svanasana (Downward facing dog pose) – boost metabolic rate and keep
    abdomen muscles engaged
  4. Paschimottanasana (Seated Forward Bend) – burns the fat in the tummy area and also relieve
    stress and treats digestive disorders.
  5. Uttanpadasana (Raised Foot Pose) – most efficient poses of yoga to get rid of abdominal fat.
  1. Pavanamukthasana (Wind Easing Posture) – tones hips, thighs and abs and relieves pain in
    lower back. Improves health of the stomach and enhances metabolism.
