Sweet potatoes are sweet, starchy root vegetables which come in a variety of sizes and colours — including orange, white, and purple.

They are a great source of fiber, vitamins, and minerals and are low in calories. They are also rich in antioxidants and has anti-inflammatory properties.

They help prevent constipation and promote regularity for a healthy digestive tract.

They contain fiber and antioxidants that promote the growth of good gut

bacteria and contribute to a healthy gut.

They are rich in beta-carotene, the antioxidant responsible for the vegetable’s bright orange colour.  Beta-carotene is converted to Vitamin A which improves eye health and immune system

Sweet potatoes are very easy to add to your diet.

They can be enjoyed with or without the skin and can be baked, boiled, roasted, fried, steamed, or pan-cooked.

A sweet potato is not a potato – Potatoes are tubers and Sweet potato is a root.

If handled gently, unwashed sweet potatoes can store well for weeks or even months in a dry, cool location.
