Is there any new good habit we have been trying to implement?
In this amazing book Atomic Habits, James Clear tells us how small habits can make a very big
difference in our lives.
A small change of 1% everyday though not notable can be very meaningful in the long run and
there is this one tool which teaches us on how we can add a new good habit to our everyday life.
for e.g. – Many a times we decide to start our exercise routine from the next day but we get up
late and decide to postpone it or think of other reasons to shelve it.
This is where Habit Stacking can help.
After (current habit), I will (new habit).
You tie your new one to something which is being done everyday or in between your current
habits.
for e.g. After I brush my teeth, i will exercise for 10 min before i have my tea.
This helps to create larger stacks of small habits together to have a positive version of the
Diderot Effect.
So let’s get started using the Habit Stacking formula right away.
